Movies that Mean Something

The first part of our Mission Statement at the Queen Theatre says, "Stories are the best way to bring us together." Next, our Core Values read, "We all have a favorite movie - everyone is emotionally tied to the Queen."  And last, but nowhere near the least, our Brand Promise is, "Unique, quality programming."

February's programming definitely delivers that brand promise. All the movies playing at the Queen this month are Oscar winners.  Ben Hur, for example, won the 1960 Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Original Music Score, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design, Best Sound Mixing, Best Editing, and Best Production Design. Wow! That's a record that still stands, tying with Titanic and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King for 11 Oscars each.

How can a film win so many awards? The answer is simple - watch it for yourself at the Queen - it will change your life. Even if you have already seen Ben Hur, we offer the unique experience of seeing it on the big screen. There is nothing like it!

We continue our new programming lineup in February, with our Big Screen Classics at the Queen playing twice each Thursday. Friday is a Blockbuster, a crowd favorite. Saturday Matinee: Family. Saturday Evening: Weekly Genre. Sunday Evening: Wildcard (can be another genre, foreign, arthouse, silent, classic, etc.).

Need an excuse to wear your best? We have an opportunity for you! The Saturday before the Oscars, we are playing Bohemian Rhapsody. (Queen at the Queen!!!) Your $35 ticket includes light hors d'oeuvres, a complimentary drink, free popcorn and the opportunity to support the Queen. Make sure you purchase your ticket early and come join in the fun!

What is your story? Have we played your favorite movie at the Queen? Do you like the new lineup? Give us a comment or two. It’s easy!
